Earth Day in Livermore, CA

Haque Chiropractic Celebrates Earth Day at Robertson ParkYesterday we spent the day at Robertson Park with many other vendors/sponsors to support the people of Livermore who were spent their morning cleaning up our streets and planting trees.  This is the type of event I love to be a part of because it makes me feel that all hope is not lost when it comes to saving our planet.  Among the vendors, I was interested in the booth next to me which was Farm Fresh to You. What was interesting was that this organic farmer from California offered a service that delivers fresh fruit and vegetable that is in season to your home on either a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis.  They also had options where you could pick the number of servings and if you only wanted fruit or vegetables.  I signed up for a weekly deliver of organic fruits and vegetables that are grown from the valley.

The goal is to support our local farmers and to try to make a conscious effort to support the environment by eating organic as it is less toxic than the commercial grown produce that we see in most of our local grocery stores.  Going organic is getting more prevalent as people are starting to learn about our food sources and the nutritional value that gets lost as it is modified, genetically engineered and grown with added hormones and pesticides.

Eating organic fruits and vegetables does cost more out of your pocket but in the long run it saves more because it helps to support our local farmers, protect the environment and is better for your health. As an added bonus organic fruits and vegetables also taste better too. Try eating organic fruits and vegetables by visiting our farmers markets that come to Livermore and Pleasanton and visit www.farmfreshtoyou.com
