Eating for Weightloss

Are you eating too fast and putting on weight?

Aren’t we always in a rush?  Rush to get to work, to pick up the kids, to get home, to finish running errands and the list continues.  This is why so many of us eat too quickly causing more weight gain.  One of the secrets to losing weight when it comes to diet is to slow down!!!

When we start to put food into our bodies, hormones are released which in turn signals to the brain that we are getting full.  The process of the brain receiving the hormone from the blood stream however, takes a little time.  Not hours, but definitely 20-30 minutes.  Many of us have already been able to gulp down a super-sized combo within 20 minutes because of our hectic schedules therefore not allowing our bodies to register that we are full until we have stuffed ourselves and caused more damage to our waistlines.

The solution to this problem might be to schedule out time for your meals.  Make sure you allow at least 20-30 minutes to eat a meal.  Be sure to chew each bite a minimum of 25 times before swallowing. This will allow for your body to register feeling full and prevent you from stuffing yourself.

Eating slower, the right things for your body, and frequently throughout the day can make the difference between weight loss and weight gain!
