Healthy Eating and Weight Loss

What’s the connection between healthy eating and weight loss?

Healthy eating is not about strict nutritional habits, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of foods you love.  Rather, it is about feeling great, having more energy, and keeping yourself as healthy as possible- all can be achieved by learning some nutrition basics and incorporating them in a way that works for you.  Making it a LIFESTYLE.

I think most people know what good or bad nutrition is. Every project that you involve yourself in needs some kind of organization for it to be successful. If you think of your eating habits as a project that needs organizing that could be the first step to success.

Here are some healthy eating tips:

  1. Make a list of all the foods you love to eat or make you feel good.
  2. Pre-prepare your meals and snacks in a healthy way so that you have easy access to them throughout the day. Feel free to check out one of my favorite low-fat recepies.
  3. Plan before your week starts, what meals you are going to have, what days and times of the day you are going to schedule in your exercise so that there are no excuses for getting ‘too busy’ or ‘forgetting’ or having ’something else come up’.
  4. Follow your plan with your meals and exercising.
  5. Give yourself two weeks without cheating and following this process.  At the end of the two weeks observe your progress.  This will be your motivation!
